Dotson's season high leads NGU past Georgia Southwestern

Melbourne, FL—Justin Dotson dropped a season high 26-points while two others scored in double-figures as the North Greenville men's basketball team earned a 73-62 win over Georgia Southwestern in the first day of the FIT Classic, hosted by Florida Tech.

Korval McElroy finished with 19-points and four assists while Jai Jencks deposited 13-points and collected 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. North Greenville improved to 3-2 on the season and gears up for its second game of the Thanksgiving tournament scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

The Crusaders shot 50.9 percent from the field including a 58 percent performance in the first half. The Crusaders finished the first period on a 12-4 run to carry a three point lead into intermission.

NGU would extend that lead to 11-points in the second period but the Canes would cut the advantage to just four with 9:12 left in the game. NGU would answer with another solid run that advanced the lead to 16-points, the largest lead of the day for either team. The 16-4 outburst, which was capped by Dotson's six three pointer of the night would seal the win for North Greenville.

The Crusaders will take on the winner of Florida Tech and Puerto-Rico Piedras at 3pm.
