Tigerville, S.C.—North Greenville's Phillip Brown will continue his basketball career at the professional level after signing a contract to play with Meyrin Basketball out of Switzerland.
The senior forward finished his career with NGU last season helping the team earn a Conference Carolinas championship, the first in school history. Brown averaged 11.2 points per game in his farewell campaign while collecting 7.2 rebounds, good enough for fourth in the league. Brown was also stellar on the defensive end of the floor with 42 blocks on the season.
"I accomplished a goal I had set for myself during my junior year of high school," says Brown. "All the nights in countless difference gyms and all of the long workouts finally paid off. I am just read to get there and get to work."
Brown is the second NGU forward to find his way to Europe to continue his career following former Crusader Paul Harrison who played with several teams in France, Finland, and Germany. Brown will report to Switzerland on August 15th for a nine-month stint.
