Banner Elk, N.C. - North Greenville fell to 4-11 in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday after a 100-84 loss to Lees-McRae.
Justin Dotson dropped 25 points for the Crusaders who shot 46.8 percent from the field. Jai Jenks earned his second double-double in a row with a 15-point, 12-rebound performance while Chris Brown also joined the double-figure club with 13-points.
The Crusaders never led on Saturday and trailed by as many as 22-points. NGU would battle back to within nine points with 3:29 left on the clock but the Bobcats would answer with seven consecutive points to re-gain a 16-point edge. Justin Dotson answered the LMC run with a three-pointer to trim the lead to 94-81 but NGU could pull no closer as the Bobcats earned the league win over the Crusaders.
NGU committed 21-turnovers in the game which led to 26 Bobcat points. The Crusaders outscored Lees-McRae in the paint, scoring 32 points compared to just 22 for the Bobcats who scored 15 second chance points while NGU scored nine.
The Crusaders will host Emmanuel College on Monday night. Tipoff between the Crusaders and Lions is scheduled for 7:30pm.
