Crusader Offense Goes Cold Against Erskine
Tigerville, SC – The Crusaders suffered their second straight loss Saturday afternoon, dropping a 79-63 decision to Conference Carolinas rival Erskine College in Hayes Gymnasium.

In the game’s opening 13 minutes of play the Crusaders and Flying Fleet played closely contested basketball as neither team was able to gain a lead of more than five points.

However, Erskine’s Roderick Perkins, Conference Carolinas’ leading scorer with 25.3 points per game, scored eight straight points to give the Flying Fleet a lead they would never relinquish.

In the second half of action Erskine’s lead built to as much as 19 points before securing the 79-63 victory on the road.

As a team the Crusaders struggled from the field, shooting just 36.5 percent from the floor, including 26.1 percent from three-point range while turning the ball over 20 times.

Junior Micah Parker led North Greenville with 18 points and five rebounds, while senior Chris Dean was the only other Crusader in double figures with 13 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes of action.

North Greenville’s (14-12, 7-8 Conference Carolinas) final game of the regular season will come on Tuesday, Feb. 25 when they host King University at 7:30 p.m. in Tigerville.
