Mount Olive, NC – After a week away from the court, the North Greenville men’s basketball team dropped a 91-69 decision to the University of Mount Olive on Saturday night.
The Trojans began the game on a 9-0 run, a lead they would extend to as much as a 15-point edge at the 1:07 mark of the first half. Senior Keith Johnson sank a half-court shot at the buzzer to make the score 46-36 in favor of Mount Olive at the half.
North Greenville never got closer than a nine-point deficit throughout the final half of play as Mount Olive secured the 22-point lead on their home floor.
Junior Phillip Brown secured his 13th double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 19 points in 39 minutes of play. Johnson totaled 16 points of his own, while Micah Parker rounded out the double digit scorers for North Greenville with 14 points in the game.
The Crusaders (12-7, 5-4 Conference Carolinas) will look to get back on track when they travel to Gaffney, SC for a matchup with in-state rival Limestone College on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
