Bristol, TN – In their final game of the 2013 season, the North Greenville University basketball team dropped an 87-72 decision to King College on Friday night.
As a team, the Crusader shot 45 % from the floor, including 40% from three-point range, while committing 21 turnovers. In comparison, the Tornado shot 49.2% from the floor while outrebounding North Greenville 41-35 in the game.
The Tornado held a lead for the first 11 minutes of action until the Crusaders tied the game at 20-20 with just under nine minutes remaining until the halftime break. However, King put together a 17-0 run over the next five minutes of play and took a 45-25 lead into intermission.
The second half of action was controlled completely by the Tornado as they continue to build a lead and seal the 15-point victory over North Greenville.
Tyshawn Patterson led all scorers with a game-high 31 points, shooting 11-for-22 from the floor, including 7-for-12 from three-point range, in 36 minutes of action. Chris Dean recorded 11 points and six rebounds, while Keith Johnson also recorded 11 points and six rebounds of his own. Jamaal Pryor narrowly missed a double-double in his final game with nine points and eight rebounds in the game.
The Crusaders end the season with a 10-16 record overall and a 9th place finish in Conference Carolinas with a 5-15 record.
