Wilson, NC – In a bid for back-to-back wins the North Greenville University men’s basketball team fell short, losing a road game to Barton College 87-59 on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs controlled the game from start to finish with the Crusaders only lead coming at the 18:47 mark in the first period.
As a team, North Greenville shot 42.3% from the field but free throws continued to be a low point as the Crusaders shot just 58.8% while committing 22 turnovers. In comparison, Barton shot 46.3% from the floor and 41.2% from three-point range while committing just seven turnovers.
Jason Wray and Paul Harrison led all Crusaders with 11 points and four rebounds apiece, while Wray also dished out a team-high five assists.
Zack Shields recorded 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds in 27 minutes off of the bench and Chris Dean totaled nine points and five rebounds.
The Crusaders (11-11, 5-9 in conference) will return home on Tuesday, February 14 for a Conference Carolinas’ matchup with Limestone College at 7:30 p.m.
