Mount Olive, NC – The Crusaders dropped their second straight Conference Carolinas game at the hands of Mount Olive College 74-59 on Saturday afternoon.
North Greenville struggled to hit shots all day and was held to just 40% shooting from the field. The usually consistent Crusaders were held in check from beyond the arc hitting just 2-of-17 three-pointers in the game.
“I was extremely proud of our effort today,” said head coach Chad Lister. “Our communication was excellent. I have always told our team if we play hard and it comes down to missing good looks, we can live with it. We just couldn’t buy a shot today.”
The Crusaders were led by Paul Harrison who recorded his tenth double-double of the season with team-highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four assists. Chris Dean totaled 17 points and six rebounds, while Jason Wray chipped in eight points of his own.
“We will be a tough out down the stretch,” said Lister. “I am pleased with the way we played.”
North Greenville (10-8, 4-6 in conference) continues its stint on the road with a February 2 contest in Bristol, Tenn. against King College at 7:30 p.m.
