Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville University men’s basketball team dropped a crucial conference game to Belmont Abbey 82-71 on Thursday night in Hayes Gymnasium.
Despite shooting 46.4% in the first half, North Greenville was down at the break 35-33 needing to make a few changes in the locker room.
NGU made the necessary changes but so did Belmont Abbey, which went on a 10-0 with 7:22 to go late in the game. The late-run sealed North Greenville’s fate as they were unable to battle back from the double-digit deficit.
Paul Harrison led the Crusaders with his ninth double-double of the season with team-highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Chris Dean recorded 20 point and six rebounds, while Jonathan Bozymowski had a solid game with 12 points and three assists. Tim Franklin filled up the stat sheet with six points, five rebounds and five assists.
North Greenville (10-7, 4-5 in conference) will now hit the road to travel to Mount Olive, NC to take on Mount Olive College on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Conference Carolinas matchup is set to tip off at 4 p.m.
