TIGERVILLE, SC—North Greenville University men's basketball coach Chad Lister announced that Kristopher Timmons, Jamal Watson, Vincent Lewis, Gabe Shaw and Thomas Motes have signed to play for the Crusaders.
"We feel very blessed to have these young men join our program," Lister said. "These are five young men who will be integral parts of our future success.”
Timmons, a 6-6 wing from Kestrel Heights School (NC), averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds.
“Kristopher is extremely versatile and athletic,” said Lister. “He plays the game with a tremendous amount of heart and has a chance to make an immediate impact on our program.”
Watson, a 5-11 point guard from Harrison High School (GA), averaged 10 points and 5 assists per game and led his team to a 22-7 record and the Region 4-AAAAA championship.
“Jamal is a catalyst on the court,” said Lister. “He makes great decisions and shoots the ball extremely well.”
Lewis is a 6-6 post from Central Glades Day School (FL). He averaged 14 points and 3 assists on a team that finished 20-7 during his senior season.
“Vince is an athletic post who has can play multiple positions,” added Lister. “His size will allow him to be physical in the post and there is no question that he will be great in our system.”
Shaw and Motes have accepted walk-on positions on the NGU roster. Shaw was team captain and scholar athlete at Christian Academy (SC). Motes was a starter for Wade Hampton (SC) and helped his team to the 3A State Championship with a 29-0 record.
"We believe that these young men are exactly the type of student-athletes that we are looking for at North Greenville,” Lister added. “This recruiting class will be a great representation of NGU and our basketball program.”
