Franklin Springs, Ga. – With a little over two weeks to prepare for their first round opponent the North Greenville men’s basketball team defeated Pensacola Christian College 72-59 on Monday night in the NCCAA South Regional Tournament at Emmanuel College.
“After 16 days in between games it was good for us to be tested in the first round and we were – by a very solid Pensacola team,” said head coach Chad Lister.“We uncharacteristically shot poorly from the perimeter today but our guys did other things well and our bench continues to deliver when we call on them.”
Paul Harrison led the offense with his seventh double-double of the season as he totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tim Franklin followed close behind with 12 points of his own to go along with four assists and four steals. Production from the Crusaders’ bench came from Chris Dean, who finished with 12 points on 3-for-4 from three-point range, and Jamaal Pryor, who recorded nine points and eight rebounds.
The Crusaders’ next opponent will be a familiar foe as they take on in-state rival Southern Wesleyan University tomorrow at 5 p.m.
