Tigerville, S.C. – The North Greenville men’s basketball team extended its winning streak to nine games with an 88-67 victory over Voorhees College on Thursday night in Hayes Gymnasium.
The Crusaders and Tigers traded baskets for much of the game, but North Greenville shot 51.6% from the floor in the second half to pull away for the victory. The win pushes the Crusaders record to 19-6, their best mark since 1991.
"I was very pleased with our defensive intensity in the final eight minutes," said head coach Chad Lister. "Voorhees is a well-coached team and we knew it would be a battle. The opportunity to win our 20th game on Saturday is very exciting."
Paul Harrison led the Crusaders with his fifth double-double of the season as he totaled 23 points and 10 rebounds. Jonathan Bozymowski had his best game of the season, finishing with 13 points on 4 of 6 shooting from the field and nine rebounds, while Luke Lattimer was the only other Crusader in double digits with 12 points.
The Crusaders (19-6) will look to end the season on a high note as they host Johnson and Wales University in their final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. Tip off in Hayes Gymnasium is set for 4 p.m.
