Crusaders win tough one on the road

Denmark, S.C. -  The Crusaders picked up their fourth win in a row on Thursday night as Phillip Brown grabbed a rebound and knocked in the game-winning free throws in the last 15 seconds to defeat Voorhees College 80-77 in their closet game of the season.

“Another team effort tonight,” said head coach Chad Lister. “Voorhees had a long home winning streak and it took a great effort to hand on for the win. We knew they would make a run and we withstood it.”

Leading the charge for the Crusaders was Paul Harrison, who poured in 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the game. Zack Shields continued his recent hot streak and finished the game with 14 points, while Tim Franklin had another strong all-around game as he finished the game with seven points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.

The Crusaders will look to extend their winning streak to five games when they take on Young Harris College on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Hayes Gymnasium.
