Tornados end Crusaders winning streak

Brevard, NC – The Crusaders were unable to extend their early season winning streak as Brevard College knocked off North Greenville 99-83 on Wednesday night.

The Tornados were led by the South Atlantic Conference’s leading scorer Josh Roper (25.8 points per game) who poured in 25 points on the night. Brevard shot 52.5% from the field and 55% from beyond the arc in the victory compared to 50% from the floor by North Greenville and only 12.5% from three-point range.

“Roper showed why he is the best player in the SAC. We had no answer for him tonight,” said head coach Chad Lister. “Our team has a quick turnaround to get ready for Florida College.”

Paul Harrison continued his early season dominance as he finished the game with 25 points on 12 of 19 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds. Luke Lattimer scored 17 points for the Crusaders, while Tyrell Platt finished with 12 points and a team-high four assists.

The Crusaders (6-3) have a chance to right the ship immediately as they play host to Florida College tomorrow night in Hayes Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
