Tigerville, SC – On a night where the Crusaders led from start to finish, North Greenville downed the Cavaliers of Montreat College 87-70 in Hayes Gymnasium.
“Tonight we had a great effort in the first 20 minutes,” said head coach Chad Lister. “I felt like Montreat out-hustled us in the second half. We had some defensive breakdowns and we still have a lot of room for improvement.”
The key to victory for North Greenville was its shooting from beyond the arc. The Crusaders finished the game with 10 three-pointers en route to 62.5% shooting as a team from three-point range.
Leading the way on offense was Luke Lattimer, who hit five three-pointers on the night and finished the game with 19 points. Paul Harrison recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds as well as dishing out five assists. In his first start of 2010, Jason Wray scored a season-high 11 points to go along with four assists, while Ian Harris led all reserves with 11 points as well. Chris Dean continued to provide a spark off of the bench as he poured in 10 points on the night.
The Crusaders (4-2) will have a rematch with Johnson Bible College at home on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. in Hayes Gymnasium.
