NGU'S HARRISON NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

North Greenville University basketball star Paul Harrison (SO Alpharetta, GA/Roswell HS) has been named Second Team All-American for the 2009-2010 season by the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) it was announced Monday in Greenville, SC.


Harrison led the Crusaders to a 16-12 record this season and to the championship game of the NCCAA Regional Tournament in Palm Beach, Fla.  He dropped in two free throws with 38 seconds left in regulation to send that game into overtime, but NGU came up two points short in its quest to win its first outright NCCAA regional title.   Harrison scored 34 points and had 15 rebounds against PBA and added 27 points and nine rebounds vs. Truett McConnell in the first round.
The 6-8 250 sport management major averaged 22.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest this season.  He topped NGU in 13 statistical categories including going 243-384 from the field for 63.3%.   Harrison now has scored 1,075 points (19.1) and 504 rebounds (9.0) in his two year career in Tigerville.  He also has shot 427-705 from the field for a remarkable 60.6%.
