Due West, S.C.—Luke Lattimer continued his hot shooting as he led the North Greenville Crusaders past the Erskine Flying Fleet 55-52.
The win over Erskine moves the Crusaders to 12-6 on the season.
The win was also NGU’s second win in a row. Also scoring in double figures for NGU was Paul Harrison and Jonathan Bozymowski who both accounted for 12 points apiece.
North Greenville never trailed in the matchup and lead by as many as 11 points during the 40 minute contest. The Crusaders weathered a 15-5 Erskine run in the final minutes of the game and hit three of four free throws forcing the Fleet to throw up a desperation three pointer at the buzzer which hit off the back iron and fell harmlessly to the floor.
With the win North Greenville improves to 12-6 on the season and Erskine fell to 7-12. “I was very proud of our effort tonight,” remarked head coach Chad Lister, “We beat a well coached team on the road tonight and it was a good win.”
The Crusaders will take the floor again Saturday afternoon against Hiwassee College. Tipoff is set for 4pm.
