CRUSADERS TAME TIGERS IN 19 POINT HOME WIN

Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville men’s basketball team went  52.5% from the field and hit 15 of 34 attempts from the three point line on the way to a blowout 86-67 win over Voorhees College.

The Crusaders opened the game with a 12-5 run in the first five minutes. Voorhees pulled to within three points with 8:54 left in the first half before NGU closed the half on a 19-11 run. The Crusaders set a frantic pace in the first five minutes of the game and continued to add pressure for the entire 40 minutes of the contest.
North Greenville opened the second half on a 24 to 7 run. NGU extended its lead to 31 (The teams largest lead) with 9:31 left in the second period.  Voorhees cut the lead to 19 with .47 seconds left but the game was well in hand as the Crusaders came away with the 19 point victory.

“We played our assignments well on defensive end” remarked head coach Chad Lister after the teams first win in three games, “I also like that we were unselfish on the offensive end.”

The Crusaders will play again Thursday night on the road at Erskine College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30. The team will return home for a game Saturday for a game against Hiwassee College at 4pm.
