NGU'S WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY ALLEN

Tigerville, S.C.—Allen University defeated North Greenville in 80-70 in Hayes Gymnasium Saturday afternoon snapping NGU’s five game winning streak.

North Greenville was lead by Paul Harrison who registered his second “double double” in two games with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jonathan Bozymowski also accounted for 22 points for the Crusaders. Luke Lattimer scored in double figures for NGU as well with 12 points.
The Crusaders led only once during the game at the 18 minute mark in the first half. The Yellow Jackets of Allen lead by as many 18 in the first half but NGU would cut the lead to 12 at the halfway point of the game. In the second half Allen built a lead of 20 points shooting an impressive 44.4% from three during the game going 16 of 36 from behind the arch.
The Crusaders would fight back to within 13 in the second half but timely three point shooting by Allen secured the win for the Yellow Jackets. NGU cut the lead to 9 with 1:16 left in the game but ran out of time as Allen went on to win by 10 points.
“I think Allen was the aggressor today” said head coach Chad Lister, “they shot the ball well from behind the arch and displayed a great deal of swagger. This is definitely a wake-up call for us.” The Crusaders will play again Tuesday night on the road against Carver Bible College.
