Tigerville, S.C.—North Greenville falls to Florida Tech 88-62 as the Panthers shot an impressive 53.3 percent from the three point line.
Florida Tech got off to a hot start going on a 10 point run in the first four minutes of the game. The Crusaders cut the lead to six with 15 minutes left in the first half which would be the closest they would come to Tech. Paul Harrison lead NGU with 23 points and collected 5 rebounds. Luke Lattimer and Jason Wray both scored 7 points for NGU.
Florida Tech shot from 53.3 percent from three point land going 16 of 30 and 54.8 percent from the field in the dominating victory. The Crusaders struggled from the field going 22 of 54 for 44.8 percent and only 3 of 19 from three for 15.8 percent.
“We were punched in the mouth early” said head coach Chad Lister, “the [Florida Tech] were a very good Division II team from an elite Division II conference and we didn’t respond, our guys are resilient will bounce back tough.”
The Crusaders are officially on break for Christmas but will return to the court on the road on January 12th against Lees McRae.
