Tigerville, S.C.—Senior forward Kyler Vitko scored 21 points and three other NGU players scored in double digits but North Greenville was unable to pull out a home victory losing to Brevard College 97-88.
Both Luke Lattimer and Zach Shields set new career highs in scoring tonight as Lattimer scored 16 and Shields scored 13. En route to his career high, Lattimer was 4 of 8 from behind the arch and 5 0f 11 from the field. Also scoring in double digits for the Crusaders was Paul Harrison who had 17. Kyler Vitko lead the team in rebounding with nine.
As a team, North Greenville turned the ball over 23 times leading to 37 Brevard points. The Crusaders however went 21 of 23 from the charity stripe in the second half. The Tornadoes never trailed during the game and lead by as many as 16 points at the 11 minute mark. The Crusaders were quick to respond cutting the lead to five with eight minutes left.
The Crusaders were unable to cut any deeper into the Brevard lead however and were forced to foul with 3 minutes left. Brevard would go on to win the game by nine. The Crusaders will hit the court again Monday night at 7pm in Tigerville.
