CRUSADERS LOSE CLOSE MATCH TO TROJANS OF ANDERSON UNIVERSITY

Tigerville, S.C.—A night after winning the season opener against Toccoa Falls, the North Greenville men’s basketball team fell to Anderson University in the second game of the season 88-81.

North Greenville battled the entire game and tied the game at 33 with 2:05 left in the opening period. Anderson once more before intermission making the halftime score 33-35. First half leaders for the Crusaders were Kyler Vitko who registered 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Luke Lattimer who scored 10. Vitko would finish the game with a double double (16 points 13 rebounds).
The Trojans lead by as many as 14 in the second period. North Greenville pulled to within seven in the second half but could not close the gap. Paul Harrison lead North Greenville with 21 points. A bright spot for the Crusaders was the play of freshman forward Jamal Pryor. Pryor scored 13 points and collected 8 rebounds in 21 minutes coming off the bench for North Greenville.
“I feel like our team played hard the entire game” said head coach Chad Lister, “we kept getting close but they [Anderson] hit some key shots down the stretch and we couldn’t pull it out.” North Greenville’s next game will be Saturday at 6pm against Brevard College.
