The North Greenville men (5-9) ran into yet another hot shooting team on the road Thursday night as Morris College of Sumter, SC shot 54% in the game and hit 12 three-pointers as the Hornets won 91-64.
Freshman center Paul Harrison led the Crusaders with yet another double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kyler Vitko added 15 and Zach Babbitt had 10 points.
“Guys at this level can really make shots and seem to running into teams where one guy just lights us up, NGU head coach Chad Lister said. “We challenge the shots, but they just seem to make them and we couldn’t match them in shooting percentage. We turned the ball over some and our confidence level dropped some after Morris jumped on us early. We got off to a bad start and we fought hard to catch up, but just couldn’t get any significant runs going.”
The Crusaders will be at home when they host Brevard College at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Hayes Gym.
