TIGERVILLE, SC--North Greenville University men's basketball coach Chad Lister announced that Zach Shields, Jeremy Eidson, and Steven Bell have signed National Letters of Intent to attend NGU and play basketball for the Crusaders.
"These three young men will make an immediate impact on our program," Lister said. "They all have tremendous character and they are talented both on the court and in the classroom.”
Shields, a 6-2 wing from Spencer County High School (KY), averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. Shields, who played for Coach Jacob Barmore, was a two time all-district selection.
“Zach can really shoot the basketball,” remarked Lister. “He has a tremendous basketball I.Q and will be a great fit in our offensive system.”
Eidson, a 6-10 post from Emerald High School (SC), helped lead his team to the Region III-AA championship. He averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds under Coach Robin Scott.
“Jeremy will give us strength on the post,” added Lister. “He has solid post moves and plays with a great deal of energy.”
Bell is a 6-5 wing from Ridge View High School (SC). He averaged 8 points and 8 rebounds for Coach John Combs.
“Steven has the ability to be a great player for us,” said Lister. “We love his ability to guard on the perimeter and in the post.”
"We believe that these young men are exactly the type of student-athletes that we are looking for at North Greenville,” Lister added. “We are excited that they chose to join us in our journey to become one of the finest Division II programs in the country.”
