Belmont Abbey edges NGU 65-56

CHARLOTTE, NC--In a battle of the Crusaders, Belmont Abbey College edged North Greenville University 65-56 Wednesday afternoon at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The game marked the first time North Greenville has played in an NBA arena. Belmont Abbey improves to 10-9 on the season with the win, while North Greenville falls to 4-11.

Austin Randel led the North Greenville Crusaders with a game-high 31 points on 11-20 shooting. Randel also grabbed seven rebounds. Kyler Vitko added eight points.

Ric Marczenko led the way for the Belmont Abbey Crusaders with 21 points on 9-16 shooting. Marczenko recorded a double-double by also hauling in ten rebounds. Richard Barbee chipped in 13 points for Belmont Abbey.

Abbey led 39-29 at halftime.

North Greenville returns to action at home Saturday versus Brevard College. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
