Randel ties school record as Crusaders down Morris
Austin Randel ties school-record with 8 three-pointers

TIGERVILLE, SC--Austin Randel drained eight three-pointers to tie the single-game school record as North Greenville University defeated Morris College 90-79 Saturday afternoon in Hayes Gymnasium. The Crusaders improve to 3-9 on the season, while Morris falls to 2-10. North Greenville posted its highest point total of the season.

P.J. Schumacher, now an assistant coach for NGU, had previously set the single-game three-point record in a 2005 game at Carson-Newman.

Randel finished with 33 points on 10-17 shooting, including 8-11 from behind the arc. Tyler Mains added 16 points and five assists for the Crusaders, while Nathan Wilson and Andrew Nipper chipped in 11 and ten points respectively.

Christopher Owens led the Hornets with 18 points. Kenneth Nesmith and Dominic Kahee added 14 and 13 points respectively.

North Greenville outshot the Hornets 56.6% to 36.4%, while hitting a staggering 66.7% from behind the arc.

The Crusaders led 42-36 at halftime.

North Greenville will be back in action Tuesday, January 15 as Warren Wilson College visits Hayes Gymnasium for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
