Crusaders fall to Limestone in season opener

TIGERVILLE, SCóLimestone College hit 22 of 49 three-pointers to win the season opener 94-73 at North Greenville University Thursday night in Hayes Gymnasium. The Saints get a 1-0 jump on the 2007-08 campaign, while North Greenville begins 0-1.

After being tied 44-44 at halftime, Limestone outscored North Greenville 50-29 in the second half. The Saints connected on 50% of their three-point attempts in the second half.

Marques Williams shot 12-19, including nine shots from behind the arc to lead all scorers with 33 points for the Saints. Andre Coleman and Kenny White added 25 and 16 points respectively.

Austin Randel hit 9 of 16 from the field to lead North Greenville with 25 points and nine rebounds. Nathan Wilson added 17 points, while Adam Griggs recorded ten rebounds and eight points.

The Crusaders will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 4:00 as Anderson University visits Hayes Gymnasium.
