Men's basketball inks three

TIGERVILLE, SC--North Greenville University men's basketball coach Chad Lister announced that Nathan Wilson, Jason Wray, and Jordan Hammonds have signed National Letters of Intent to attend NGU and play basketball for the Crusaders.

"We anticipate all three players will make an immediate impact on our program," Lister said. "They bring a combination of intelligence and toughness and all have competed and played well at a high level."

Wilson, a 6-7 wing from North Platte Community College (NE), averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game this season. Wilson, who played for Coach Kevin O’Connor was an all-conference selection in the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference.

Wray, a 6-3 guard from Jack Britt High School (NC), was named to the Mid-South Conference first team. He averaged 15 points and 4 assists under Coach Ike Walker.

Hammonds, a 6-5 wing from South Laurel High School (KY), was named AP All-State Honorable Mention and nominated for McDonald’s All-American. Hammonds, who played for Coach Steve Wright, averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Click here for The Times Tribune article on Hammonds.

"We believe that these young men are exactly the type of student-athletes that we are looking for at North Greenville,” Lister added. “We are excited that they chose to join us in our journey to become one of the finest Division II programs in the country.”
