Men's basketball season comes to close at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA- North Greenville University's men's basketball season ended Tuesday night as Emmanuel College defeated the Crusaders 71-62 in the second round of the NCCAA South Regional tournament. North Greenville finishes the season 16-13. Emmanuel improves to 24-10.

North Greenville was led by two seniors playing their final game for the Crusaders. P.J. Schumacher scored a game-high 19 points on 8-12 shooting and pulled in five rebounds. Amonzo Gantt added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Jaevas McClendon led Emmanuel with 13 points, while Jonathan Womack and Shavoyae Brown chipped in 12 and 11 points respectively.

While North Greenville out-shot Emmanuel 39.7% to 36.4%, the Lions attempted ten more free throws than NGU, hitting 11 more than the Crusaders. NGU led 39-30 at halftime, but Emmanuel out-scored the Crusaders in the second half 41-23.
