Crusaders down Pensacola Christian; advance to round 2

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA- North Greenville University defeated Pensacola Christian College 75-71 in the first round of the NCCAA South Regional tournament Monday night. The foruth-seeded Crusaders will face top-seeded Emmanuel College Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. NGU improves to 16-12 on the season, while PCC falls to 15-13.

Amonzo Gantt led the Crusaders with a double-double in points in rebounds. Gantt scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Austin Randel also dropped 15 points in the win. Jordan Richmond scored 13 points, while Kyler Vitko and P.J. Schumacher added 12 and ten points respectively.

Marques Goetsch led all scorers with 26 points for PCC. Micah Bowman added 14 points.

North Greenville out-shot PCC 43.9% to 37.7%. The Crusaders led 35-34 at halftime.
