TIGERVILLE, SC- Jeff Carbuhn nailed a three-pointer with four seconds remaining in the game to lift Brevard College over North Greenville University 72-68 Tuesday night in NCAA Division II men's basketball action. The Tornados improve to 9-11, while the Crusaders fall to 12-12.
After trailing most of the second half, NGU took a 53-52 lead at the 8:40 mark in an Austin Randel 3-pointer. The Crusaders held that lead, getting up by as many as seven points, until Carbuhn's triple gave the Tornados the edge with four ticks left. On the ensuing in-bounds pass, Brian Davison stole the ball forcing NGU to foul. Davison hit his two free throws to make the score its final of 72-68.
Amonzo Gantt led NGU with 20 points on 6-12 shooting. Jordan Richmond scored 15 points, while Randel and Andrew Nipper added 11 and ten points respectively.
Carbuhn led BC with 18 points. Jonathan Whitson scored 15 points, while Nathan Whitmire chipped in 12 points.
North Greenville will be back in action Thursday night at Warren Wilson College. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
