Gantt's 31 points propel Crusaders over Morris 107-92
Amonzo Gantt led all scorers with 31 points

TIGERVILLE, SC- Amonzo Gantt scored a season-high 31 points to lead North Greenville University to a 107-92 victory over the visiting Morris College Hornets. North Greenville improves to 12-11 with the win, while Morris falls to 9-15.

Morris held the lead for the first nine minutes of the ballgame. Then at the 11:12 mark, P.J. Schumacher hit his first of five 3-pointers to give the Crusaders their first lead. NGU never trailed the rest of the night. The Crusaders shot 52.9% to take a 48-40 lead at halftime.

In the second half, NGU stretched the lead to as many as 24 points on 64% shooting. The Hornets shot only 39.8% for the game.

Gantt hit 10-15 shots from the field and 10-14 from the free throw line en route to 31 points. Gantt also pulled in 11 rebounds. Schumacher hit five 3-pointers and three free throws to score 18 points for the Crusaders. Jordan Richmond and Kyler Vitko each added 16 points, while Andrew Nipper chipped in 12 points.

Joseph Hayward led Morris with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Carlos Gore and Ronnie Jones each added 16 points.

North Greenville will be back in action tomorrow night in Hayes Gymnasium as they play Brevard College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
