TIGERVILLE, SC- Austin Randel nailed four 3-pointers to score a game-high 20 points to pace North Greenville University in a 96-62 rout of Atlanta Christian College Tuesday night in Hayes Gymnasium.
The Crusaders shot 59.7% from the field and 50% from behind the arc as they wore down the visiting Chargers. Defensively, NGU held Atlanta Christian to 38.2% shooting.
Four Crusaders scored in double-digits. Randel led all scorers with 20 points, followed by Jordan Richmond and Andrew Nipper with 19 and 18 points respectively. Amonzo Gantt chipped in 12 points. Richmond and Gantt each had nine rebounds.
Stacy Williams led the Chargers with 19 points on 9-15 shooting. Anthony Snell and Jordan Poole scored 15 and 11 points respectively.
Quintin Haugabook scored the game's first basket to give the Chargers their only lead of the night. Richmond sunk a free throw at the 18:53 mark in the first half to give NGU the lead, which they never relinquished. The Crusaders took a 46-31 lead into halftime.
North Greenville improves to 5-6, while the Chargers fall to 4-14. The Crusaders will be back in action Thursday night as they travel to Viginia Intermont College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
