Crusader basketball announces early signing of three players

TIGERVILLE, SC- North Greenville University men's basketball coach Chad Lister announced that Zach Babbitt, Tait Oliver, and Kyler Booher have signed National Letters of Intent to attend NGU and play basketball for the Crusaders. The trio will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2007-08 academic year.

"We anticipate all three players will make an immediate impact on our program," Lister said. "They bring a combination of intelligence and toughness and all have competed and played well at a high level."

Babbitt, a 6-6 wing from Wade Hampton High School, averaged 13.5 points and 10 rebounds per game during his junior season. Babbitt, who plays for Coach Darryl Nance was named All-Region and Team MVP.

Oliver, a 6-1 guard from Walhalla High School, was named to the Golden Corner All-area first team. He led the Razorbacks in rebounding and was second in scoring during his junior season under Coach Hal Dunlap.

Booher, a 6-3 wing from Newton High School in Ohio, was named to the All-Southwest District First Team as a junior. He averaged 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists.

"We believe that these young men are exactly the type of student-athletes that we are looking for at North Greenville,” Lister added. “We are excited that they chose to join us in our journey to become one of the finest Division II programs in the country.”
