Maurice Duncan, former Furman standout, enters his third season with North Greenville University. He previously was at Wheeler High School after a stint at Georgia Tech, where he spent three seasons as a graduate assistant with the Ramblin’ Wreck.
Duncan worked with the defensive backs at Tech and will assume the same responsibilities at NGU. Duncan entered the college coaching ranks after working as an assistant coach at Luella High School in Locust Grove, Georgia, where he was also in charge of the strength and conditioning program.
While at Furman, Duncan spearheaded a 2004 defense that was ranked first in the Southern Conference in scoring defense as the team rose to fifth in the country while advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA playoffs. Duncan finished his career with 116 total tackles and five interceptions. He was a four-year letterman with the Paladins and won two Southern Conference Championships.
Duncan Graduated in 2005 with a major in Health and Exercise Science. He is a native of Aiken, South Carolina. He and his wife Aja have four children, Elijah, Alasia, Noah, and Judah.
