Tigerville – North Greenville Football once again shined on National Signing day, reeling in talent from all over the State of South Carolina as well as Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina.
In all, 23-players signed a letter of intent to play for North Greenville beginning in 2020, a majority of which will represent the Upstate of South Carolina as local talent. Eight of the signees hail from cities around NGU including Duncan, Greer, Pickens, and Simpsonville.
Other cities from around South Carolina that make-up the #NewCru20 class include Columbia, Lamar, Dorchester, James & Pawley’s Island, Darlington, Pamplico, Irmo, Florence, Sumter, Lakewood, Allendale-Fairfax, and Williamston. Charlotte, North Carolina, Lynchburg, Virginia, and Tallahassee, Florida are also represented by the 2020 signing class. This is the first time in more than five years in which the state of Virginia has been represented on a North Greenville Football roster.
The mission this recruiting cycle was clear, focusing on the trenches as well as at wide receiver on offense while also adding depth at the defensive line and linebacker spots. Eight offensive linemen were inked last Wednesday while five wide receivers agreed to play for the Crusaders. A quarterback, as well as a tight end and running back, were also signed by the program.
Defensively, four linemen put their names on the dotted line with three linebackers while also adding depth at defensive back. The NGU staff also focused on special teams, signing the state’s top kicker/punter.
