NORTH GREENVILLE RANKED 5TH IN FIRST SUPER-REGIONAL POLL

Indianapolis, IN - The North Greenville University Football Team is currently ranked 5th in the first NCAA Super Regional Poll, released Monday afternoon. The University of West Georgia resides in the first spot with a record of 8-0 on the season while Tuskegee (7-1) holds the second spot.

A 5-2 North Alabama squad sits in third place while Catawba (6-2) chimes in as the fourth seed. The Super Regional Polls are used to determine which teams will play in the NCAA Division II Playoffs each season.

The Crusaders have now won five consecutive games after opening the season 1-2. NGU's first win came over Lenior-Rhyne on September 12th. The Bears were ranked 8th in all of Division-II.

NGU's next two opponents are also ranked in the poll, as Wingate earned the number seven spot with a 6-2 record while Carson Newman is sixth with a 5-2 mark on the season. The Crusaders will play Wingate this weekend in Wingate, North Carolina. North Greenville is looking to make the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2011, and only the second time in school history.
