Tigerville, SC - Former North Greenville linebacker Jonathon Sharpe has inked a professional deal with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League.
The 6-0 235lb Sharpe was signed as a free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and participated in camp but was cut shortly before the season began. He helped lead the Crusaders to the quarterfinals of the NCAA D-II Playoffs in 2011.
Sharpe was one of the leaders on the Crusader defense in his two years on the team, racking up 132 tackles, including 23.5 for a loss, 5.5 sacks, and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
He was featured in the NFL Network show, "Undrafted" which documented several undrafted football players working towards a contract in the National Football League.
