Thomas, Gravely Earn Pre-Season All-American Honors
USA Football Network, Inc. is proud to publish its 26th USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-American Teams that are selected by a national panel including Head Coaches, Sports information Directors, members of the Football Writers Association of America, Metropolitan New York Football Writers Association, New England Football Writers Association and Philadelphia Football Writers, pro football scouts plus staff journalists of Lindey’s Sports Annuals, The Sports Network and USA Football News.

Two Crusaders have made the list of All-Americans as senior defensive back Cejay Thomas was selected as a member of the First Team Defense and senior kicker/punter Justin Gravely was selected as a Special Teams member.

Thomas, a native of Duncan, SC, will enter his final season for North Greenville after transferring from Division I-AA Gardner Webb in 2011. The senior has played in 36 career games, totaling 57 tackles, 13 pass breakups and two interceptions while being a vocal leader on and off the field.

Gravely, a native of Pickens, SC, has also been a member of the Crusader family since 2011, cementing his place in history with a school-record 29 field goals made from the place kicker position. The senior was also the team’s primary punter a season ago, totaling 29 punts for an average of 41.8 yards per punt, placing 11 kicks inside the 20-yard line with seven punts of over 50 yards.

The Crusaders will kickoff the 2014 season on Thursday, Sept. 4 in Tigerville against Ave Maria University at 7 p.m.
