Crusaders Honored By USA College Sports

On Wednesday, December 7, seven members of the North Greenville University football team were honored as USA College Sports DII All-Americans.

Idris Anderson, the lone sophomore on the list, finished with 129 carries for 737 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and a team-high 14 touchdowns. The Dallas, Ga. native also recorded eight catches for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Senior offensive linemen Jacob Farley and Asa Wright were part of an offensive line unit that led the Crusaders to 3, 498 rushing yards (249.9 rushing yards per game) and 41 touchdowns on the ground.

Quarterback Willy Korn rounded out the offensive players from North Greenville named to the All-American team. Korn finished his senior season completing 178-of-289 pass attempts (61.6%) for 2, 525 yards and 27 touchdowns.  He also did damage on the ground, rushing 139 times for 462 yards (3.3 yards per carry) for seven touchdowns. As a whole, Korn accumulated 2, 987 total offensive yards and 34 total touchdowns.

On defense, the Crusaders had three members named USA College Sports All-Americans.

Safety Nick Rosamonda secured the honor after a senior season in which he led the team with 82 total tackles including 10 tackles for a loss and one sack. Rosamonda was also tied for the team lead with four interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns), while totaling 10 pass breakups, eight quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery.

Corner back Jereme Green was also named to the team after tying for the team lead with four interceptions, returning one for a touchdown in the Crusaders’ first round playoff game against Albany State. The shutdown corner recorded 39 total tackles and two tackles for loss on the season to go along with 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Linebacker Nathan Batchelor finished off the USA College Sports All-American selections for the Crusaders after finishing fourth on the team with 60 total tackles. Batchelor also recorded 6.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks and two interceptions.
