Tigerville, S.C.—Wednesday August 11, 2010 marks the opening of fall camp for the North Greenville Crusaders as the team gears up for the 2010 football season under second year head coach Jamey Chadwell.

The team will check in on Tuesday evening and will have its first official practice Wednesday at 2:30. The Crusaders will have two practices on Thursday the 12th followed by the first practice in full pads on Friday.

“With camp approaching I hope to see our team return in shape and excited about the coming season,” says head coach Jamey Chadwell, “position wise, I hope we can establish a starter at quarterback and find some guys who can fill the holes on the defense. We will also have to find someone one special teams who can replace Justin Jones.”
One of those spots on defense was held by senior standout All-American defensive end Andre Bernardi. The Crusader defense also has to replace starters Joe Novotaski (Defensive Tackle), Xavier Boykin (Defensive Back), and Johnell Bell (Defensive End) who were all lost to graduation among others.

The 2010 schedule holds its challenges for the second year coach and his team. The Crusaders season schedule boasts games against two Football Championship Series teams in Presbyterian, and Charleston Southern as well as match ups with South Atlantic Conference foes in Mars Hill and Lenoir Rhyne. Helping bulk up the schedule is independent University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
“We are excited about the season and our schedule, we feel it is a very competitive schedule and will test our young team early,” said Chadwell when asked about the Crusaders 2010 slate of games. “We expect to compete to the very best that we can each week and improve daily and give our self a chance to win every ballgame.”

North Greenville’s final preparations will be August 27th before opening the season on the road at Mars Hill College with kickoff scheduled for 1:30pm.
