Tigerville, S.C.—Senior football player and defensive standout Andre Bernardi has been selected to two more post season teams as chosen by “The State”, a newspaper stationed in Columbia, South Carolina.
Bernardi was first named to the “All State Team”, a selection which puts him in the midst of players such as Cliff Mathews of the University of South Carolina, and Ricky Sapp from Clemson. With 54 total tackles and 20.5 tackles for a loss, Bernardi had better numbers than his Division I counterparts. Bernardi tied the Division II career sack record with 42 career sacks.
More impressive than being named all state for the 2009 season, Bernardi was named to the newspaper’s “All Decade” team, a list which lacks the presence of a player from Clemson or USC. Bernardi all but secured his place on the team with numbers like 42 sacks, 78 tackles for a loss, and 239.5 total tackles in his 4 year career at North Greenville. The 78 tackles for a loss made Bernardi the all-time leader in Division II.
Andre Bernardi will officially finish his college football career on January 8, 2010 when he competes in the Cactus Bowl, an All-Star game in Kingsville, Texas. For a complete list of the two teams, follow the links below.
