NORTH GREENVILLE ANNOUNCES 2009 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

New North Greenville University head football coach Jamey Chadwell will open a new era on the sidelines of Younts Stadium in Tigerville, SC Saturday, Aug. 29 when the Crusaders host Mars Hill College at 7:00 p.m.

Chadwell, who took over as head coach in February, had a very successful spring practice with his Crusader squad, and is anticipating a successful first season after serving as assistant head coach at Charleston Southern.


The 2009 NGU schedule is highlighted by a trip to Florence, Ala. take on perennial NCAA Division II national champion North Alabama Thursday, Oct. 8. The Lions, who reached the NCAA II national semi-finals last season, are now coached by former Auburn mentor Terry Bowden, the son of legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.


Other highlights of the ’09 schedule include four home games and three games against South Atlantic Conference members Mars Hill, Wingate (Sept. 5) and Lenoir Rhyne (Sept. 19).
North Greenville will also play Division I FCS member Charleston Southern Sept. 26 in Charleston.
