Newly minted North Greenville University head football coach Jamey Chadwell will see his first action on the sidelines of Younts Stadium in Tigerville Saturday, April 25 at 10:00p a.m. at the annual Crusader Spring Game.
Admission to the game is free, but Crusader fans are asked to bring canned or boxed food which will be donated to families in the vicinity of North Greenville. Boxes will be placed at the gates of the stadium for collection points.
Following the game, a barbecue dinner will be served and Coach Chadwell, his new staff and the Crusader players will be on hand to meet with fans. At halftime of the game, Coach Chadwell will present spring training awards to the players who have excelled.
“This game will be a lot of fun for everyone as we get to introduce our new staff and players to the public,” Chadwell said. “We will play four quarters in the first half, and then have the awards at halftime. Then, in the second half, we will play a running clock,” Chadwell added.
“Our defense has really done well in carrying the team through spring practice,” the first year mentor stated. “Our offense has made good strides but we lost so many veteran players from the previous season, so we’ve got a few guys who have yet to play a college game learning the system. Overall, we’ve had a good spring, and I’m excited about getting on the field in the fall.”
