NGU FOOTBALL COACH MIKE TAYLOR RESIGNS

Mike Taylor, who has been the head football coach at North Greenville University the last five seasons, has resigned it was announced by Director of Athletics Jan McDonald.

Taylor started the NGU football program in 1988 when the school was still a junior college.  He compiled a 33-3 record and left for his alma mater, Newberry College, in 1992.  Taylor returned to NGU in 2004 and led the program as a NCAA Division II independent.  The Crusaders had their best season under Taylor in 2006 when NGU won the Victory Bowl championship in Tigerville 56-28 over Malone College.

Taylor was also inducted into the NGU Hall of Fame in 2001.

“Coach Taylor has had a good tenure at North Greenville as our football coach and we would like to thank him for his dedicated service to our student-athletes,” McDonald said.  “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
