Football to hold scrimmage Saturday evening

TIGERVILLE, SC--North Greenville University will hold its first preseason scrimmage Saturday evening at 6:15 at the NGU Athletic Complex. The two-hour scrimmage will feature about 100-110 plays. The first-string offense will square off against the first-string defense, while the second-string offense will face the second-string defense and so on.

"We want to use this scrimmage to see where we're at after one week," says head coach Mike Taylor. "We're gonna play ones-on-ones and see how we match up."

A few major concerns that Taylor and his staff will be paying close attention to are linebacker progression and creating depth at fullback and on the offensive line.

Saturday will also be the first day in full pads. The squad will practice once Saturday morning before the scrimmage that evening. After a day off on Sunday, the Crusaders will practice twice on Monday and once on Tuesday before classes begin Wednesday. A second scrimmage will be held on August 18. All practices and scrimmages are open to the public.
