Crusaders finish high in NCAA stats and polls

TIGERVILLE, SC- The 2006 NCCAA Victory Bowl champion North Greenville Unviersity football team finishes the season ranked #23 in the latest Don Hansen NCAA Division II poll and #1 in his NCCAA poll. The Crusaders also finish the 2006 campaign with the top-rated offense in all of NCAA Division II.

North Greenville averaged 472.2 yards per game of total offense, the most of any other D-II school in the country. The high-octane Crusader offensive attack finishes second in scoring offense with a 39.7 point per game average. Also, NGU comes in 7th in rushing offense (252.8 ypg). The Crusaders are 12th in passing efficiency and 6th in pass sacks allowed.

Defensively, North Greenville ranks #1 in punt return defense, 31st in team pass sacks, and 24th in passes intercepted.

Individually, several Crusaders are ranked in the top 35 of various categories. DE Andre Bernardi maintains his #1 ranking in the tackles for a loss category wit 2.4 per game. Bernardi is also 4th in pass sacks (1.2 per game). QB Eric Moeller is ranked 12th in passing efficiency (157.0 rating), 14th in passing yards (2,527 yards), and 26th in passing yards per game (210.6 ypg). RB Matt Moore also ranks in three categories. Moore is listed as 9th in rushing yards (1,290 yards), 17th in rushing yards per game (107.5 ypg), and 17th in scoring (8.5 ppg).

RB Rashad Cummings is also ranked in scoring and rushing yards per game. Cummings' 95.6 yards per game is 25th in the land, while his 7.5 points per game earns him a ranking of #24. WR Travis Talbert finishes out the season at #11 in receiving yards (986 yards) and 23rd in receiving yards per game (82.2 ypg).
