The all-time series is tied 1-1. Pikeville won the first meeting in 2001 by a score of 42-7. The Crusaders defeated the Bears last season 28-21.


North Greenville comes into this game 0-3 after losses to Virginia-Wise, Cumberland, and Wingate. The Bears have only played one game thus far, defeating Atlantic College 63-0 on September 3. NGC- Travis Mosley leads the Crusader rushing attack with 224 yards and 3 TDs. Eric Moeller has passed for 431 yards and one TD. Travis Talbert has 7 catches for 144 yards and Joseph Rowe has 11 catches for 143 yards. The Crusader defense has been led by Isaac Tate and Ken Floyd. Tate has 37 total tackles and Floyd has 33.

Pikeville- In the opener against Atlantic College, Calvin Joplin led the Bears in rushing with 9 carries for 72 yards and three TDs. Chip English threw for 103 yards and one TD while completing 6 of twelve passes. Paul Sullivan and Doug Howard each had four solo tackles. Sullivan addes 3 assists while Howard had 2 assists.


The Crusaders and Bears have two common opponents this season. NGC opened the season with games against Virginia-Wise and Cumberland. The Bears will face Cumberland on October 22 and play Wise on November 5.
