The Wingate Bulldogs (2-0) come to Tigerville Saturday for a 1:30 kickoff in Younts Stadium versus the North Greenville Crusaders (0-2). Rallying to score on a fourth and goal from the 14-yard line, the Bulldogs defeated Webber International for the win in their season opener. The Crusaders fell for the second straight game at the University of the Cumberlands, but showed a more consistent defense and a potent passing attack.
North Greenville is looking to get its first win against Wingate in this fifth game of the alltime series that began in 1999. An interesting rushing battle should determine the outcome of this game. Crusader Travis Mosley rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns in the opener versus Virginia-Wise, but was held to just 65 yards against Cumberland. Rip Smith rushed for 214 yards including a 48-yard touchdown run in the Bulldog win over Webber.
