ANDOVER, MD. - Former Crusader offensive linemane Amos Lamb can still hold his head high. Some might see his being released from Washington Redskins mini-camp as a major setback. Then again, Lamb isn't the type to get too down about getting to show off his talents to the likes of Joe Gibbs.
"I had a good showing", Lamb said. "The coaches gave me some good comments."
Team officials related to Amos that they liked what they saw, but decided to go with more experienced offensive linemen. Amos' agent, Tim Erwin, told NGC Sports Information that Amos' pro football opportunities are far from over.
"We are looking into other NFL teams, Arena Football League (AFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), and maybe get Amos added to an NFL Europe roster late in the preseason."
Lamb signed a free agent contract with Washington Monday. The 6'5", 317lb senior is represented by his agent, Tim Erwin of Tennessee, an NFL veteran himself. The Redskins did not draft an offensive lineman this year.
